Spurwink, a nonprofit that provides behavioral health and educational services, has hired and promoted the following people:
Abby Peck joined as director of annual giving and special events. Peck came to Spurwink from New York City, where she served as director of special events at Hetrick-Martin Institute, a youth agency serving 2,000 LGBTQ young people annually. Prior to that, she was the marketing manager at Women Make Movies, a documentary film distribution and production company.
Misty Marston was promoted to program director for Spurwink at Cornville. Marston previously worked as the associate program director of residential treatment for Spurwink.
Whitney Taggart was promoted to assistant program director – residential at Spurwink’s Chelsea program. Taggart, who received a master’s degree in social work at Boston College, has worked at Spurwink since 2003 in a variety of roles, most recently as a clinician at the Chelsea location.
Spurwink also announced that its Portland Help Center was recognized by the Maine Psychological Association with its 2015 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award.
The center is a mental health clinic in downtown Portland that provides integrated community-based outpatient psychiatric treatment, assertive community treatment and clinical community support to adults with serious mental illness and chemical dependencies.
The awards program recognizes organizations that make a commitment to programs and policies that foster employee health and well-being while enhancing organizational performance and productivity.
