Regarding Delene Perley’s letter about the League of Women Voters’ mayoral forum (“Answers in mayoral debate secure vote for Brennan,” Oct. 19):

If she believed that Ethan Strimling wasn’t specific in his responses, she must have left early.

When asked to state the best leadership characteristics that he would bring to the job, Ethan said, “Listening, collaboration and vision.” Pretty specific in my book.

Then we asked Ethan for his top three priorities. He outlined universal pre-K, citywide broadband access and the need to build more housing to make living in Portland affordable for youth, families, workers and the elderly.

Most importantly, what I liked about Ethan is that he asked us as many questions as we asked him, and when people answered, he was listening. How refreshing to have a leader who actually wants to know what his constituents think!
