The New England Patriots activated wide receiver Brandon LaFell from the reserve/physically unable to perform list for their game Sunday against the New York Jets.
LaFell, who caught 74 passes for 953 yards and seven touchdowns last season for the Patriots, has not played this season because of a foot injury. He also had 13 receptions for 199 yards and two touchdowns in three playoff games for the Patriots last season.
LaFell was placed on the PUP list before the start of the regular season, meaning he had to miss at least the first six weeks.
JETS: NFL.com reported that Stevan Ridley will not play for the Jets. Ridley, who played the first four seasons of his career with the Patriots, has been out since Oct. 12, 2014, when he tore two ligaments in his right knee.
Ridley signed with the Jets in the offseason.

A few hours later, Weatherford was back with the Jets. Punter Ryan Quigley had been added to the team’s injury list as questionable with an injured right shin, and New York needed someone for the game Sunday against the New England Patriots.
“I’m baaaaaaack!!!!” Weatherford posted on Instagram, smiling while posing between wide receiver Eric Decker and cornerback Darrelle Revis for a photo at the Jets’ facility in Florham Park, New Jersey.
To make room on the roster for Weatherford, the Jets waived injured safety Jaiquawn Jarrett, who had been listed as doubtful for the game with a knee injury.
TITANS: Tennessee activated wide receiver Rico Richardson from its practice squad.
The Titans waived tight end Chase Coffman to make room on the roster for Richardson.
Richardson, who is from Jackson State, will add depth to the Titans’ receiving corps while Harry Douglas is sidelined with injured ribs.
RAIDERS: Oakland promoted defensive end Shelby Harris from the practice squad to the active roster.
The Raiders waived safety Tevin McDonald to make room on the roster.
COWBOYS: Wide receiver Dez Bryant was downgraded to out for Dallas’ game against the New York Giants on Sunday.
Bryant hasn’t played since Week 1, when he suffered a broken foot that required surgery.
