John Van Pelt joined Nancy Marshall Communications as a digital marketing manager.
Previously, Van Pelt was the principal user interface designer for Oracle Corp. He also designs logos, informational graphics and presentations. He lives in Troy.
Health Affiliates Maine has hired Nina Bartlett as director of operations. Bartlett, of Turner, brings 10 years of experience as an operations manager in a variety of fields. Her experience includes strategic planning, organizational development, communications, bookkeeping and office management.
Eric Rasmussen joined Gawron Turgeon Architects as a designer.
Rasmussen previously worked as an architectural designer at PDT Architects in Portland. He has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and participated in Keep ME Warm initiatives.
Sewall has hired Joshua O’Neill as a natural resource analyst/forester. O’Neill brings experience in forest inventory and three years of analyzing GIS, forest health, forest structure and energy data. Prior to joining Sewall, he worked as a GIS consultant.
Stephanie Whitman joined Common Census in Westbrook as a marketing manager.
Most recently, Whitman worked at The Smithers Group. She also has experience in corporate brand management through positions with Microsoft and Honest Tea. She lives in Westbrook.
Pete Carroll joined Morris Yachts as president. Carroll will oversee all aspects of Morris Yachts’ operations, customer service, finance and facilities. He recently retired from the Coast Guard after 20 years of active

Benjamin Grant became a partner with the law firm McTeague Higbee. Grant, of Portland, joined the firm in 2008 and focuses his legal practice on labor law, and state and federal workers’ compensation law.
Rinck Advertising has promoted two staff members.
Karly Eretzian was named vice president of creative services. Eretzian has been with Rinck for 12 years and works daily with copywriters, graphic designers, Web designers, account managers, brand managers and others on the Rinck team.
Kathleen de Silva has been promoted to chief operating officer and vice president of account services. De Silva joined Rinck in 2010 as an account planner and was promoted to chief operating officer and vice president of account services.
Mark Nahorney, dean of students at the University of New England, was named director of community relations.
Nahorney serves on numerous civic and community organizations such as the Biddeford Saco Chamber of Commerce & Industry Board, the Biddeford Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, and the Mobilize Maine York County Steering Committee. He was previously involved with the Portland Area Comprehensive Transportation System Mass Transit Committee and the Envision Biddeford 2020 Mayor’s Committee.
Currently, Nahorney is president of the Biddeford City Theater Associates Board and is co-founder and co-chair of the Biddeford-Saco Arts and Culture Association.
BOARD APPOINTMENTS
Dighton Spooner and Peter Lamb were appointed chair and vice-chair of the Maine Community Foundation Board of Directors.
Spooner, of Portland, is senior associate director of career planning at Bowdoin College.
Lamb, of Kittery Point, is an independent philanthropic adviser.
The following people have joined the Maine Credit Union League’s Board for three-year terms:
Joann Bisson, president and chief executive officer of Trademark FCU, has been with the credit union since 2009 and became president/CEO in 2013.
Scott Chretien, president and chief executive officer of York County FCU, first joined the credit union as executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2003 and was promoted to his current position in 2013.
Vicki Stuart, president and chief executive officer of Central Maine FCU, has served as president/CEO since 1992.
Nicki Bean, director of marketing for The Nonantum Resort, was appointed to the Kennebunk-Kennebunkport-Arundel Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Bean also serves on the chamber’s destination marketing and PR steering committee.

Kathleen O’Donnell has joined the Portland Chapter of SCORE as a certified SCORE volunteer mentor. O’Donnell, of Harpswell, brings her broad range of business planning and development experience with a focus on small-business issues to SCORE clients.
