NEW GLOUCESTER — The Bates College men’s cross country team showed outstanding depth Saturday at the Pineland Super XC Shootout against nationally ranked Tufts and RPI.
The Bobcats finished second.
Bates’ Taylor Saucier, a Freeport native, placed fourth (26:16.8) overall.
With each team’s top 10 runners figuring into the scoring, No. 11 Tufts won the meet with 133 points, followed by No. 32 Bates ( 152) and No. 29 RPI (186).
Bates next competes at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University on Oct. 2.
