Leading Democratic 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was in Cape Elizabeth Friday afternoon for a private fundraising event at an undisclosed location.

Clinton met with donors during the event, hosted by the Maine for Hillary Finance Committee, according to a Facebook page called “Reception with Hillary Clinton.”

Tickets were $1,000 for “friends” and $2,700 for “champions.” Those who contributed $2,700 were invited to a “Champion” reception with Clinton. The event was scheduled from 1:15-3:15 p.m. According to Clinton’s website, the location of the event was only being provided upon RSVP.

Following the Cape Elizabeth fundraiser, Clinton was scheduled to host a low-key campaign at King Middle School on Deering Avenue in Portland at 4 p.m.

The event is expected to draw 400 people.
