BATH — After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Betty Joan Bowman, 49, of Bath, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at her home. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Dec. 10, 1965, a daughter of Richard G and Georgiann (Bollin) Doucette.

She grew up in Franklin, Wisconsin, and attended area schools until graduating high school. After high school Betty joined the Navy. While in the Navy, Betty was stationed at Brunswick Naval Air Station, where she met the love of her life, Eric Bowman.

Betty married Eric in 1986 and started their family. After retiring from the Navy in 1989, Betty and Eric moved to Bath where she worked as the seafood manager at Shaw’s in their Falmouth location as well as their Bath location.

Her hobbies included gardening, both vegetable and flowers, and nature. But the thing that really made her happiest was her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by those whose lives she’s touched.

Betty leaves behind her loving husband Eric; three daughters, Brandi of Fayetteville, N.C., Rachael of Bath, and Tiffany, also of Bath; her parents, Richard and Georgiann Doucette of Franklin, Wisconsin; five sisters, Nancy, Debbie, Donna, Patty and Amy; several nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
