Cape Elizabeth officials have started searching for a new director of the Thomas Memorial Library to replace longtime director Jay Scherma who is retiring after 20 years.

The town plans to hire a new director by early 2016 to coincide with the re-opening of the renovated library.

A committee assisting in the search includes a library staff member, a town department head, two members of the library Board of Trustees and two at-large citizens.

More information, including a job description, can be found on the town website at www.capeelizabeth.com.
