CUMBERLAND — In a rematch of last season’s Western Maine Class B boys soccer final, Yarmouth High controlled the majority of play and beat rival Greely 2-0 on Tuesday.
Senior striker Jonathan Groothoff scored the first goal with 8:07 left in the first half, depositing a cross from his brother Luke Groothoff, a sophomore midfielder.
Luke Groothoff sealed the win with a 2:16 to play, knocking in a curving free kick into the top left corner from about 25 yards.
The Groothoffs moved to Yarmouth from northern California.
Yarmouth (2-0) held a 16-4 shot advantage and also had three second-half shots hit the goal frame and stay out.
