Shane Carle and Kraig Sitton combined on a four-hitter and the New Britain Rock Cats scored three runs in the eighth inning for a 3-0 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs on Friday night at Hadlock Field.
Carle (14-7) pitched eight innings, striking out three, walking one and allowing three hits.
Sitton, who pitched the ninth for his 10th save, gave up a single to Forrestt Allday before Manual Margot followed with a double-play grounder and Tzu-Wei Lin ended it on a grounder to second.
Jordan Patterson hit a leadoff single off reliever Mike Augliera (3-15) in the eighth for New Britain. Patterson moved to second on a sacrifice and came home on a double by Joey Wong.
Wong moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Juan Ciriaco, who scored on a double by Tyler Massey on the next at-bat.
The Sea Dogs were unable to string together any of their hits. David Chester hit a two-out single and stole second in the second, but was stranded following a groundout.
Margot reached on a single in the third but was thrown out trying to steal second.
He also singled with one out in the sixth inning but was erased on a double-play grounder by Lin.
Portland starter Danny Rosenbaum allowed two doubles and struck out four in six innings.
