River Arts, located at 241 Route 1 in Damariscotta, is featuring a solo exhibition of drawings and paintings by artist Carol Wiley.
The exhibit, “Figuring It Out,” runs through Sept. 9.
On display is Wiley’s work from 2008 to 2015. It includes several series of paintings as well as studies of local models from life sessions around midcoast Maine.
Originally from Washington, D.C., Wiley has been a local painter since 2001. She has shown both in Virginia and Maine and is a member of River Arts and Saltwater Artists galleries. Her work, which includes still lifes and landscapes, can also be seen at her home studio in Jefferson.
Wiley will be “in residence” at the River Arts West Gallery from noon to 4 p.m. on Sept. 5 working on a new painting.
