PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Devin Sharkey’s RBI double with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday afternoon gave Atlantic Shore, New Jersey, a 4-3 win over Portland, eliminating the New England champions from the Babe Ruth World Series for 14-year-olds.

Portland, needing a win to keep alive its chances of advancing to the quarterfinals, scored in the sixth and seventh to erase a 3-1 deficit. Ben Sawyer singled home Cam King in the sixth, and Ben Stasium drove home pinch-runner Keller Nicolai with a two-out single in the seventh.

Tre Fletcher went 3 for 3 and scored Portland’s first run on a single by Will Snyder in the fourth.
