AKRON, Ohio — With Phil Mickelson watching, the Portland Sea Dogs couldn’t find their stroke.

The Sea Dogs managed just three baserunners against Mike Clevinger and a pair of relievers in a 6-0 loss to the Akron RubberDucks on Friday night in front of a sellout crowd of 8,102 – with the golfing great in the owner’s box – at Canal Park.

Clevinger scattered three hits and struck out four in 6 2/3 innings, and Ben Heller and Enosil Tejeda combined to set down the final seven Sea Dogs batters in order, the last six on strikeouts.

The RubberDucks (59-54) got all the offense they needed on a two-out, three-run double by Alex Lavisky off Portland starter Danny Rosenbaum in the bottom of the second inning.

Akron added to its lead with a two-run single by Joe Sever in the fifth inning and an RBI double by Bradley Zimmer in the seventh.

Keury De La Cruz doubled for the Sea Dogs (41-72) and Carlos Asuaje and Aneury Tavarez each added a single.

Rosenbaum took the loss, giving up four runs on five hits and five walks in 4 2/3 innings.

It was the second time Portland has been held scoreless in four games on its current six-game trip to Erie and Akron. The Sea Dogs are 1-3 and have been outscored 25-8 so far.
