A Brunswick woman died at the scene Sunday night when the motorcycle she was driving crashed off Route 125 in Durham.

According to Chief Deputy William Gagne of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office, Beth Woodmancy, 52, was driving her motorcycle too fast north on Route 125 when she failed to negotiate a curve.

Gagne said officers made that determination based on a witness account of the accident. The fatal crash occurred at about 7:10 p.m., near the intersection of Meadow Road, according to police.

Woodmancy was not wearing a helmet, police said, and there is no evidence that she had been drinking.

Sgt. Reilly Bryant is the lead investigator of the accident, which remains under investigation. Durham Fire and Rescue assisted the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
