Join Loon Echo Land Trust for an Acoustic Sunset Fundraiser on Hacker’s Hill in Casco from 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Acoustic singer Helena Nash, of Portland, will perform a one-and-a-half-hour set of music on top of Hacker’s Hill while the sun sets beyond the White Mountains. Nash’s musical inspirations spring from her diverse background, ranging from her college jazz and classical trumpet playing to world music and Motown, to the great voices of folk and acoustic music. The themes Helena touches on in her music mirror her modern yet timeless sensibility, telling stories that might have resonated in a human heart at any period of history.
There is a $10 per person ($5 for children) suggested donation at the “door” to benefit the stewardship of Hacker’s Hill. The open, grassy fields allow for comfortable seating with wonderful views of the Lakes Region and White Mountains. Bring a picnic dinner and a lawn chair or blanket. The music begins at 7 p.m. and will conclude as the sun sets at 8:30 p.m. Parking is available at the top of the hill, which is located on Quaker Ridge Road in Casco, approximately one mile from the Route 11 intersection and four miles from the Route 302 intersection. In the event of rain, the fundraiser will be held on Aug. 6 at the same time. For more information, contact Loon Echo at 647-4352 or membership@lelt.org.
