TOPSHAM — The 161st Topsham Fair opens Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Admission for the event, which opens at 8 a.m. daily and runs through Sunday, Aug. 9, is $10 every day but Friday and Saturday, when the fee is $12. Rides are included in the cost, and children under 3 feet tall get in for free on Friday and Saturday. Children of military families get in for half the price on Sunday.

Tuesday is also Senior Citizens Day, with $3 admission for eligible adults. 

Free harness racing at the fairgrounds, off the Route 196 Coastal Connector, precedes the start of the fair on Sunday and Monday, Aug. 2-3. Racing also takes place during the fair at 5 p.m. Tuesday, and 1 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.

Demolition Derby, one of the fair’s bid draws, takes place at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday. Another crowd-pleaser, the Monster Truck Show, revs up at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

Fireworks are scheduled at 10 p.m. Saturday, or Sunday after dark in the event of rain.
