BRUNSWICK
Brunswick Police this morning identified the body of a man pulled from the New Meadows River on Tuesday as belonging to David Dolan, 51, of West Bath.
At 9:41 a.m. Tuesday, Brunswick police and fire departments were alerted to a report of a body floating in the river near Sawyer Park, according to a news released issued by police Wednesday morning.
Dolan’s body was recovered from the river, a short distance from the park’s boat launch, and subsequently transported to the state medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.
On Tuesday, police told The Times Record that the body was discovered by someone walking on one of the paths at the park.
The body was found about 100 yards to the left of the boat landing, according to police.
There has been no indication of foul play and “nothing that indicates suspicion,” Brunswick Police Commander Marc Hagan said, speaking at the scene on Tuesday.
Hagan said there had not been reports of a missing person.
Dolan’s family members have been contacted, according to police.
The death remains under investigation and anyone having information regarding Dolan’s death is encouraged to contact Brunswick Police Det. Greg Mears at ( 207) 721- 4322.
