Man pleads guilty in death of 5-month-old
BANGOR (AP) — A Maine man charged in the death of an infant has been ordered to serve 17 years in prison after reaching a plea agreement.
Samuel Moore on Thursday pleaded guilty to manslaughter and aggravated assault. Under the agreement, a murder charge was dismissed. A judge sentenced him to 25 years, but suspended part of the sentence.
Police say Moore had been babysitting 5-month-old Korbyn Antworth, who died in March 2014 at Eastern Maine Medical Center. The 5-month-old suffered rib fractures and a head injury.
Moore was also accused of choking Korbyn’s older sibling.
