A Portland man is free on $60,000 cash bail after being arrested on a charge of gross sexual assault Wednesday night on Forest Avenue.

Loc Tran, 40, of 98 Cumberland Ave. was arrested at 9:30 p.m. The alleged victim, a woman whom the man knew through work, was treated at a local hospital, police said.

Police said they would not release additional details or Tran’s mug shot because the investigation is still in its early stages.

Tran was booked into the Cumberland County Jail at 1 a.m. Thursday and released that afternoon after posting bail.
