SOUTH PORTLAND — Forrest Chadwick hit an RBI triple in the fifth inning Wednesday night and Lender’s Network went on to a 3-1 victory against Edge Academy in a Twilight League baseball game.
Chadwick’s triple helped Lender’s (10-1) to a 3-0 lead.
Shyler Scates got the win in relief against Edge Academy (2-8), allowing one hit over three innings with three strikeouts.
Logan Carmen pitched the seventh inning to claim his third save of the season.
PATRIOT 5, AERO HEATING 0: Niko Ruiz, Zach Carrero and Drew Gelinas hit consecutive doubles in the third inning to bring in three runs as Patriot (2-9) shut out Aero Heating (7-4) at Standish.
Dylan Turner and Ruiz both finished with three hits for Patriot.
AMERICAN LEGION
STAPLES CROSSING 14, BONANZA OF SANFORD 0: Staples Crossing (5-3) had 11 hits and Jake Parmalee held Bonanza of Sanford (3-5) to three hits for a five-inning victory at Sanford.
Parmalee struck out four and walked none. Zack Quintal had a single, a double and three RBI.
LIBBY-MITCHELL 1, YANKEE FORD 0: Sam Warren’s single in the seventh inning drove in Tim Brigham as Libby-Mitchell (3-6) nipped Yankee Ford (4-6) at Portland.
Brigham pitched a three-hit shutout. Alex Libby allowed three hits for Yankee Ford.
JUNIOR LEGION
SACO 5, SACO-BIDDEFORD SAVINGS 3: Jacob LaPlumme and Luke Chessie scored on errors in the eighth inning as Saco won at Biddeford.
LaPlumme doubled and scored the go-ahed run. Chessie, who led the team with three hits, singled and scored the final run.
BRUNO’S 1, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Zach Fortin pitched a one-hitter in his first start as Bruno’s (6-3) beat Cape Elizabeth (2-7). Fortin struck out seven with no walks.
YANKEE FORD 2, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Ryan Benedict was hit by a pitch in the 10th inning and later scored the winning run as visiting Yankee Ford (9-1) edged South Portland (9-3).
