Residents and staff at Scarborough Terrace Assisted Living held an appreciation barbecue recently to thank local public safety personnel for their hard work, particularly during the recent hard winter.
The First Responders Appreciation Barbecue was attended by local firefighters, police officers and EMTs, who had a chance to hear first-hand from residents about the impact they have on their daily lives. The community’s chef and dining staff prepared the food for the first responders and residents. During the lunch, the residents gathered to pay tribute to the first responders with a flag salute.
“Our residents love helping out the local community in any way they can,” said Elizabeth Simonds, marketing manager at Scarborough Terrace. “These first responders work so hard, especially during the snow, cold and wind. Just taking an hour out of our day to serve them lunch still is not enough, but we are excited to honor them in any way we can.”
