WATERBORO — Weston Bergeron took a perfect game into the fifth inning while getting plenty of run support as Massabesic downed Bonanza of Sanford 11-1 in five innings in an American Legion Zone 4 baseball game Thursday.

Bergeron kept Bonanza (1-3) off the bases until Frankie Veino singled in the top of the fifth inning. Veino later scored Bonanza’s lone run on a couple errors and a groundout.

Massabesic (3-1) did most of its damage in the bottom of the second inning, scoring seven runs in the frame. Caleb Burpee highlighted the inning with a two-run home run. Bergeron also drove in a run in the second with a single. Ethan Daigneault hit a two-run single in the frame as well.

Derek Coulombe ended the game by driving in Andrew Wicklund with a single in the bottom of the fifth.
