Pete was born on July 23, 1932, in Robbinston, ME, the son of the late Edward and Margaret Ingersoll.
Pete worked extra hours in the blueberry fields to buy an engagement ring and married the love of his life, Margaret Phinney, on Nov. 10, 1951. Pete was very proud to have served his country in the Air Force for four years. He returned home after service to his farm and forestry business in Robbinston, which he operated with his father for the next five years. In the early ’60s, Pete and his family moved to Waltham, MA, where he worked in manufacturing at Reece Corporation until he was transferred back to Maine in the ’80s.
Pete was a loving and devoted husband and father. He proudly supported the many endeavors of his children. His most memorable moments were with his family, being blessed to have raised three loving children. Pete loved to visit with his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren who called him “Gramps” and “Great Great” respectively. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Bruins and the Red Sox. Pete enjoyed raising vegetables in his garden, working in the woods, and going hunting with his family. He was loved by all for his selfless, warm, kind and cheerful attitude. Gramps will be missed by his loving family and by his many wonderful friends at Horizons and Dionne Commons where he lived for the last six years.
