OXFORD
Two homeless men were arrested Wednesday in Oxford County for alleged methamphetamine manufacturing, according to the Department of Public Safety.
Charles McNeice, 46, was charged with aggravated methamphetamine trafficking and violation of bail, and Joshua Mershimer, 33 was charged with conspiracy to commit trafficking in methamphetamine, according to spokesman Stephen McCausland.
On Wednesday morning, a vehicle the two were in was pulled over on Route 26 by Oxford police, according to McCausland.
McNeice, who was out on bail for a felony theft charge out of York County, did not have a driver’s license, and Mershimer had an arrest warrant out of Cumberland County for failing to pay fines, McCausland said.
Items used to make methamphetamine were allegedly found in the vehicle, and Oxford police called in a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency team to assist.
