The proposed RSU 1 spending plan will go before Arrowsic, Bath, Phippsburg and Woolwich voters Tuesday.

During a town-meeting style vote May 26, residents added $15,315 in spending to increase hours of a Phippsburg band teacher and to help expand the Woolwich art program, with the total expenditures for the RSU amounting to $27.2 million.

Overall, the local contribution amounts to $ 16.8 million, and local share costs are expected to increase by $767,803, or 4.78 percent. As for what’s driving the rise, $ 494,597 of the increase includes the addition of a new middle school foreign language program and an expanded pre- K program, while $ 272,206 is due to the impact of the West Bath withdrawal from the RSU 1.

According to the budget, the local shares are as follows:

. Arrowsic’s share will increase from $435,221 to $452,166, which reflects an increase of $16,946, or 3.89 percent. The town’s current tax rate of $5.09 per $1,000 assessed value will increase by $0.22, or 4.3 percent, $5.31.

. Bath’s share will increase from $9.2 million to $ 9.6 million, which reflects an increase of $ 431,076, or 4.71 percent. The city’s current tax rate of $ 10.18 per $ 1,000 of assessed value will increase by $0.55, or 5.4 percent, to $10.73.

. Phippsburg’s share will increase from $2.8 million to about $ 3 million, which reflects an increase of $181,396, or 6.53 percent. The town’s current tax rate of $4.52 per $1,000 assessed value will increase by $0.27, or 5.97 percent, to $4.79.

. Woolwich’s share will increase from $3.7 million to $ 3.8 million, which reflects an increase of $ 138,384, or 3.74 percent. The town’s current tax rate of $9.95 per $1,000 assessed value will increase by $0.48, or 4.8 percent, to $10.43.

Residents can vote at their respective towns:

. Arrowsic — Voting will take place at Arrowsic Town Hall, 340 Arrowsic Road from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

. Bath — Voting will take place at Bath Middle School, 6 Old Brunswick Road from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

. Phippsburg — Voting will take place at Phippsburg Town Hall, 1042 Main Road from 1: 15 p. m. to 7 p.m.

. Woolwich — Voting will take place at Woolwich Central School, 137 Nequasset Road from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
