I have listened to Governor LePage talking about how much he is against domestic and other forms of abuse in the world. I agree with him on this. What I don’t agree with is how frequently he verbally abuses people who disagree with him. In Tuesday’s paper he told a group of students at Brunswick Junior High School that “I bully them (the legislators) when I can.” It sounds like he is saying every chance he gets to bully them, he will.
He also said, “Violence begins with bullying…” I also agree with him on that statement. What he doesn’t seem to recognize is the verbal bullying he does in what seems a daily occurrence. He doesn’t seem to be able to receive anyone disagreeing with him on anything without immediately going to the verbal attack mode. He is being a bully when he does that and it seems to me he does it often. If someone has a different opinion, they are attacked. If they change anything in what he is proposing, he attacks them. If they have another view, he attacks them. He makes threats to veto the work of others until he gets what he wants. He is a verbally violent, verbally abusive man and he does a great deal of damage with his mouth. Makes me sad to have a bully as the Governor.
