PLYMOUTH (AP) — Police say a 20-year-old Maine man is dead after he struck another vehicle and was ejected from his car.

Maine state police Det. Christopher Cookson tells WCSH that Buck Charles of Plymouth likely was speeding when he lost control on a curve, crossed the center line and struck an oncoming car in Plymouth.

A couple in the other car — 78-year-old Raynor Shaw and 73-year-old Mavis Shaw — were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

Cookson says Charles was not wearing a seatbelt.
