Three school buses from Southern Aroostook Community Schools, part of Regional School Unit 50, stopped to let off students and teachers outside L.L. Bean last Thursday morning. Merriconeag Waldorf High School math teacher Jeff O’Brien has a chapter on surveying published in Jamie York’s new math book, “Making Math Meaningful: A Source Book for Teaching High School Math.” O’Brien has been teaching surveying to 10th-graders at Merriconeag since the high school began in 2007. L.L. Bean paid tribute to Leon Gorman at its Taylor Building on Casco Street in Freeport on May 15 by presenting him with his portrait. Gorman is chairman emeritus for L.L. Bean, as well as its former chief executive officer. According to the company, when he assumed the role of CEO in 1967, the company’s revenue was under $5 million. By the time he stepped down, L.L.
