The Freeport girls tennis team suffered a 4-1 loss to visiting Fryeburg on Monday, May 4, and then a pair of 5-0 losses on Wednesday and Thursday, the first at Falmouth and the second at Greely.

Fryeburg match

Catherine Ashley (Fryeburg) defeated Lindsey Dealman (Freeport) 6-3, 6-4

Lauren Carter (Freeport) defeated Nevena Mitie (Fryeburg) 4-6, 7-5, 6-4

Gulsen Oztosun (Fryeburg) defeated Hannah Williams (Freeport) 7-5, 6-4

Lucy Kneissler/Trishala Manadhar (Fryeburg) defeated Caleigh Breton/Hannah Avant (Freeport) 7-5, 7-5

Falmouth match

Olivia Leavitt (Falmouth) defeated Lindsey Dealman (Freeport) 6-0, 6-0

Julia Brogan (Falmouth) defeated Lauren Carter (Freeport) 6-0, 6-0

Caroline Ray (Falmouth) defeated Hannah Williams (Freeport) 6-0 6-0

Kate Kelly/Amanda Watson (Falmouth) defeated Caleigh Breton/Hannah Avant (Freeport) 6-0, 6-1

Meg Hyland/Meg Pierce (Falmouth) defeated Leah Harrison/Chanipa Suvannasaroje (Freeport) 6-2, 6-2

Suvannasaroje took home Freeport’s game ball. For winning even five games against an exceedingly strong Falmouth lineup, the Freeport girls did earn a prize: the chance to shave coach Chris Nordenson’s head.

Greely match

Kathryn Pare (Greely) defeated Lauren Carter (Freeport) 6-0, 6-0

Jessie Hoffman/Mia Lambert (Greely) defeated Caleigh Breton/Hannah Avant (Freeport) 6-0, 6-0

Samantha Kennedy/Madelyn Day (Greely) defeated Leah Harrison/Chanipa Suvannasaroje (Freeport) 6-1, 6-2

The losses drop the Lady Falcons to 0-5 on the season. Freeport next battles Cape Elizabeth, a home matchup, on Tuesday the 12th.
