WELLS — Freeport scored the final four goals of the game to beat host Wells 12-8 in a WMC boys lacrosse game at Forbes Field Thursday.
The game was tied 8-8 with just over four minutes to go before the Falcons (2-1) made their game-ending run.
Evan Whitten led the Warriors (1-1) with three goals, while Ryan Marsh, Noah Pease and Courtland Austin had two each.
Girls Lacrosse
NOBLE 9, WELLS 7
NORTH BERWICK — Eleanor Mallett scored a hat trick to help lead host Noble past Wells 9-7 in a Western Maine girls lacrosse game Thursday.
The Knights (2-1) also got two goals each from Kaylin Thompson and Alexandra Sardinha.
The Warriors (0-2) were led by Alyssa Loukala, with two goals, while Megan McDonald, Kayla Schneider, Micaela Wright, Sydney Robinson and Holly Robinson each tallied one.
Kate Schott made eight saves in net for Wells.
Girls Tennis
MASSABESIC 4, BONNY EAGLE 1
WATERBORO — Melissa Carmichael helped lead a sweep of the singles matches as host Massabesic beat Bonny Eagle 4-1 in an SMAA girls tennis match Thursday.
Carmichael defeated Bonny Eagle’s Lizzy Atkins 6-2, 6-2 in No. 1 singles, while Acadia Byther and Emily Scavoni had straight-set wins in No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively.
The Mustangs’ No. 1 double team of Alisha Smart and Michelle Radley was also victorious.
