YARMOUTH — Concetta (Connie) Davies, age 87, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015, at BaySquare in Yarmouth.

Connie was born and raised in Plainville, Conn., the daughter of Pietro and Viola (Iannini) Mattioli. She graduated from Simmons College in the class of 1948 and became a social worker for the state of Connecticut. In 1952, she married Richard I. Davies, a civil engineer from Meriden.

Together they lived in South America and then in the Northeast and New England before moving to Brunswick, Maine, where she was a homemaker and community volunteer. Along with her husband and family, she enjoyed their Boxers, sailing the coast of Maine, and traveling throughout the United States.

In her later years she retired to Yarmouth, Maine, where she was active with family and in the community. She was a devoted and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured time with family.

Connie was predeceased by her husband and three brothers, Alto, Louis and Marino Mattioli.

She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Weinbaum of Springfield, NJ, Leslie’s husband Alan, and their children Aaron, Samantha and Allison, and her son Clinton Davies of Yarmouth, ME, his wife Colette, and their children

Jocelyn and Jeanelle.

The family wishes to thank the BaySquare staff and Yarmouth community for their care and compassion, and invites donations to be made in her name to the Maine Alzheimer’s Association.

Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Sunday, April 26, 2015, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 27 at 11 a.m. A private interment will be at Pinegrove Cemetery in Brunswick.
