1. South Portland: Expectations are high as the core of the defending Class A championship team is back. Goalie T-Moe Hellier, and attackers Jack Fiorini and Andrew Whipple should be among the best in the state at their positions.
2. Cape Elizabeth: The Capers are looking for a third consecutive Class B championship, led by all-state Griffin Thoreck.
3. Thornton Academy: Last year’s Western Class A runner-up has two leading goal scorers back in Isaac Sinclair and Zach Bryant. Chris Camire is one of the top goalies in the state.
4. Brunswick: The Dragons came up short against South Portland in the Class A championship game but should have another strong campaign behind seniors Tyler Sullivan and all-state Cam Glover.
5. Scarborough: The Red Storm had a run of four straight Class A championships stopped last year and suffered heavy graduation losses, but senior midfielder Nate Howard and sophomore Sam Neugebauer at attack will help them reload.
