A South Portland School Department bus driver, Leon Spear, has been issued a summons for failing to use caution while passing a bicyclist in Portland Thursday morning.

According to a press release, the incident occurred on Deering Avenue, near King Middle School, at approximately 7 a.m. Thursday.

The Portland Police Department’s traffic division investigated the incident, which included reviewing video captured by the bicyclist’s camera.

As a result of the investigation, Spear was issued a summons for failing to use due care passing a bicycle.
