AUGUSTA (AP) — A Maine woman who pleaded guilty to a series of crimes, including a burglary at the under-construction home of a soldier who lost all four limbs in an explosion in Afghanistan, has been sentenced to serve nine months in prison.
The Kennebec Journal reports that Tiffany Fitzpatrick, of Augusta, was also placed on three years’ probation and ordered to pay $4,000 in restitution at sentencing this week. She pleaded guilty in February to drug and theft charges.
Prosecutors say during a crime spree last April, the 26-year-old Fitzpatrick and an accomplice stole tools from a home under construction in Manchester for Army Staff Sgt. Travis Mills.
Mills lost parts of all four limbs when an improvised explosive device detonated under him in 2012. He moved in last October.
