BRUNSWICK — “Water From the Well: Easter Rejoicing Inspired by the Celtic Saints” will begin Sunday, April 12, at 5:30 p.m. and continue each Sunday evening through May 24.
“It is a bit unusual, perhaps, that Lutherans would feature the writings of Celtic saints as inspiration for an evening prayer service,” said the Rev. Rebecca Wegner, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. “But we are always seeking to grow in our spiritual lives and there is great wisdom in the writings of the early church saints. The Celtic saints in particular have a joyous expansive view of faith that resonates with contemporary Christians. Their writings are filled with hospitality, openness to mystery and a vivid sense of the miracle of God present with us that is especially appropriate for the seven week season of Easter that concludes on Pentecost Sunday.”
All people are welcome to attend the services, which are casual, contemplative and feature Celtic harp music. Good Shepherd is located at 330 Maine St. For more information, contact the church office at 725-6561 or e-mail revrebeccawegner@gmail.com.
