Spring!
The calendar doesn’t lie! Or does it? Officially, spring sprung on March 20, but as we all know, Mother Nature is stubbornly holding on as chilly temperatures and snow flurries persist. Easter weekend is looming, hopefully spring-like temperatures are on the horizon. Just don’t forget your mud boots, you know what else is inevitable! Hopefully the warmer temperatures anticipated will bring you out of hibernation, as you do have choices here in the Lakes Region.
See a Play
“Oklahoma!” is on the bill at Lake Region High School April 9, 10 and 11 at 7 p.m., with matinees April 11 and 12 at 2 p.m. Advance tickets are just $8 for students and senior 65 and over, and $10 for adults. At the door, tickets are $10 and $12.
Tickets are for sale at Aubuchon Hardware in Naples, Bridgton Books, Hawthorne’s Attic in South Casco, and the Lake Region High School main office.
Go Out to Eat
On Friday, April 3, the Lake Region Vocational Center Culinary Arts program will hold a benefit dinner for their program. The menu will include pork loin, haddock, vegetarian lasagna, mashed potatoes, vegetable and dessert, all for just $10, with kids 5 and under eating free. For more information, email the vocational center at eric.botka@lakeregionschools.org or call 693-3864.
Support Project Graduation of Lake Region High School at their last fundraiser for the year. A spaghetti dinner, sponsored by the Bridgton Masons, will be held at the Oriental Lodge, Bridgton, on Route 117 on Saturday, April 4, from 5-7 p.m. The cost is just $6 per person or $25 for a family of 5 and up.
The Masons have once again generously offered to match ticket sales provided they sell at least $500 worth of tickets. So please come out and break bread for a great cause! This is the final push to fund the whitewater rafting trip. Maybe you could use this dinner as the perfect opportunity to get together with friends or family you haven’t seen in a while. Easter Eve is the perfect time to connect and create memories.
Hunt for Eggs
The Naples Public Library holds its Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday, from 10-11 a.m. They hold the hunt as well as help the kids make their own baskets to hold their treats.
Ice Out!
It’s close I think, but the penguin for the Naples Public Library Ice Out Contest is still standing. Tickets for this fundraiser can be purchased until April 6. Tickets are available at the library, the Black Bear Cafe?, Aubuchon Hardware, A2M Variety, the Umbrella Factory, Merced’s, Naples Town Hall, the Naples branch of Norway Savings Bank, and the Greater Bridgton Chamber of Commerce. Join this fun guessing game today!
Congrats

Condolences
Condolences go out to the family of Kenneth Burnham, who passed away this past month. The family also grieves the loss of Ken’s aunt, Joan Lawrence, of Naples, who also passed recently.
