SACO — A Children’s Lenten reading event was held on Saturday, March 14 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Community Room of Dyer Library. The non-denominational event featured reading of “The Donkey that No One Could Ride,” by Anthony DeStephano, and was open to all.

This reading was followed by singing and a snack. While holding a “candle” the group sang, “This Little Light of Mine” with great gusto. Because pretzels look like hugs if held upside down, a snack of “hugs” was shared by all. A copy of the book was given to each child who participated. The books had been made available by the author.
