Ethan Murphy turned in 13 points – including a last-second, game-winning lay-up on a hail-Mary feed from Eddie Galvin – as the Capers captured the Class B State crown 44-42 over Medomak Valley at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Friday night.

Cape entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed; they defeated No. 5 Spruce Mountain in the B West semifinals and No. 4 Lake Region in the regional finals to reach the State bout. They retire for the year at 19-3, having returned the State title to their community for the first time since 1988.
