BOYS
Hany Ramadan, Deering track: Ramadan set an SMAA record in the open 600-yard run with a time of 1:14.17 at the league championship meet. He also won the 200 meters with a time of 22.85, just edging Jake Dixon of Cheverus.
HONORABLE MENTION
Cody Hughes, Marshwood wrestling: Hughes became the second Maine high school wrestler to record 200 career wins when he notched Nos. 199, 200 and 201 while winning the 170-pound title at the Western Class A regional championships.
Nate Samson, Brunswick swimming: Samson set a KVAC record for the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.50. He also won the 100 backstroke (51.37) and led off a record-setting 200 medley relay (1:38.18) to help the Dragons win the conference championship.
Jake Perron, Falmouth swimming: Perron had a North Southwesterns meet record of 1:43.52 in the 200 freestyle, winning by three hundredths of a second and breaking a mark that had stood since 2001.
GIRLS
Julia Champagne, Brunswick basketball: Champagne scored 34 points, including the 1,000th of her career in the fourth quarter, in a 69-37 win against Mt. Ararat. She also had seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals.
HONORABLE MENTION
Tasia Titherington, Deering basketball: The Rams sophomore scored a game-high 25 points with five 3-pointers in the regular-season finale, a 53-47 win against Portland.
Elaine Dudley, Massabesic swimming: Dudley broke a 13-year old South Southwesterns record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.06.
Kate Hall, Lake Region track: Hall won the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 71/4 inches and the 55 meters with a time of 7.07 in the Western Maine Conference championship. Hall is ranked No. 1 in the nation in the long jump and fifth in the 55.
