GARDINER — Donielle Marie Lee, 40, died on Feb. 5, 2015, at her home in Gardiner. Born at Blytheville Air Force Base in Blytheville, Ark., on Feb. 25, 1974, Donielle is survived by her mother, Janice Bond Lee of Gardiner, her grandparents, David E. and Sally Lee of Bath, her three sons Cameron and Lucas Mueller and Chay Wilhelm, all of Gardiner, two sisters Raquel Lee Hardman of Topsham and Kristal Lee, who resides in Tennessee, and three brothers David Daniel Lee of Damariscotta and Justin and Jake Johanson of Bath.

She is preceded in death by her father Daniel Emery Lee and her longtime companion Elliott Wilhelm.

A devoted family member, she is also remembered with affection by her two aunts Donna Lee Murphy and Debbie Lee Degen of Bowdoin, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A gifted student and talented athlete, she attended Morse High School and UMA where she was a straight “A” student and excelled at basketball and gymnastics. A dedicated mother, her three sons were the centerpieces of her life. In addition to traditional courses of study, Donielle devoted countless hours to the study and research of Billers Liver Disease to assure that her son Cameron received necessary medical treatment. As a result of her love, care and concern to this day, he continues to enjoy good health and a full life.

Donielle is fondly remembered by all who knew her as a free spirit who loved the simpler things in life. She found joy in wild flowers, the sound of the ocean, the moon and stars on a clear night, and the rain in her face on a warm Maine summer day. Gracious and caring, she had a bright smile, loved everyone and only asked for their love in return. To those of us who knew her best, Donielle will forever be missed and best remembered through the words of this simple verse, “Our sweet little poppy seed blowing in the wind touching all the flowers to grow again.”
