A tractor trailor that jack-knifed on the Maine Turnpike in Wells Thursday morning blocked all three lanes of northbound traffic for more than an hour and a half, according to state police. Carlos Tells, of Columbus, Georgia, told police he lost control of his truck after braking to avoid colliding with a vehicle in front of him. Tells was not injured and there was only minor damage to the truck, police said. The Maine Turnpike Authority reported the lane closures at 8:23 a.m., and all three lanes were re-opened by about 10:15 a.m. A wrecker was brought in to help remove the tractor trailer, according to police. In the meantime, motorists traveling north on I-95 were diverted off of Exit 7 in York.
