BANGOR (AP) — Attorneys for a man accused of using a phony Facebook profile to lure a 15-year-old girl to her death want his trial moved to another county.
Lawyers for Kyle Dube of Orono argued during a hearing in Bangor Thursday that their client wouldn’t receive a fair trial in Penobscot County because of the amount of media coverage. They suggested it be held in Kennebec County.
WABI-TV reports that the judge plans to rule after the jury is selected. She’s also expected to issue a written decision on the defense’s request to suppress some of Dube’s statements.
Dube is accused of using a fake Facebook profile to set up a meeting with Nichole Cable of Glenburn before killing her in May 2013.
