BATH — The City of Bath will conduct a public meeting tonight to discuss the upcoming redesign and reconstruction of North Street.
The meeting will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Auditorium, located at 55 Front St. The meeting is open to the public.
The city will be redesigning and reconstructing a portion of North Street from Five Corners to High Street. This project is expected to be designed and constructed in 2015.
The project aims to improve the roadway surface, provide safe and continuous pedestrian areas and improve the appearance and quality of life along this road.
It is anticipated this will be a phased project. The first phase will include the resign and reconstruction of road from Five Corners to High Street. The second phase will stretch from High Street to Washington Street. Where right-of-way width allows, the street will be narrowed and landscaping and lighting improvements added.
The city obtained additional funding through the state for the project and will also share in the cost of the project.
