Portland native Jamie Rutherford was recently inducted into the SUNY Oswego Athletic Hall of Fame. Rutherford, a member of the class of 1985, was an integral part of a baseball program that won three straight State University of New York Athletic Conference championships, from 1983 to 1985. A center fielder, Rutherford was named to the NCAA Division IIII All-America team following his junior year. He made the NCAA All-Northeast Regional Team each of his final three seasons and was also a first-team all-conference selection in those years. He still holds Oswego records for career hits (186) and career stolen bases (55) and runs scored in a season (50).
