
She was appointed to the position on Nov. 26, 2014. A reception will follow the ceremony in the Fellowship Hall, located on Center Street in Bath. All are invited to attend.
Merrill attended Eastern Nazarene College and University of Maine. She previously served as children’s pastor in Augusta for five years, then as associate pastor ministering to the youth in Richmond for eight years. During her years of ministry, Merrill has produced and directed 10 musical productions with children, youth and adults, written Bible curriculums for children, trained teachers and volunteers to effectively teach children with special needs, and has become nationally recognized for her creative approach to teaching Children’s Bible Quizzing, a program of the Church of the Nazarene. She has also taught ministerial candidates, mentored women who are preparing for ministry, and served as director of the Basham Institute for Ministry Development. Merrill is married to southern gospel recording artist Fred Merrill. They have nine children.
