I write this letter of gratitude to the owners and staff at Yankee Lanes in Brunswick. As the Executive Director of Independence Association, I have long sought a local venue that offered food, beverages, and something fun for our staff to do for our annual holiday party. At the suggestion of a staff member, we decided to celebrate our holiday party at Yankee Lanes. Nelson and Melissa Moody at Yankee Lanes were the perfect hosts. We had over 120 employees and family members participate in a fun-filled holiday celebration that included bowling, billiards, darts, as well as a large selection of foods that kept coming out of the kitchen in time for our staff to enjoy.
They (Yankee Lanes) also host our weekly bowling activities each Friday for the individuals that attend our community supports programs. The owners and staff have been extremely supportive of people with disabilities and that is why we continue to return to them.
On behalf of the staff and all the people we serve with disabilities, we sincerely thank Nancy, Dustin, and Nelson and Melissa Moody, for being such good members of the Brunswick Community and for the enjoyment we receive each week at Yankee Lanes.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
