Spirit of Christmas Fair starts Friday

The North Pownal United Methodist Church’s Spirit of Christmas Fair is Friday, Dec. 5, from 3-8 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Santa visits on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The fair will feature crafts, handmade items, Christmas items, baked goods, white elephant, the Candy Cane Cafe? and more.

Food on Friday, from 3-8 p.m., includes Zuppa soup, fish chowder, hot dogs, chicken salad and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, tea, coffee, punch and hot chocolate.

Food on Saturday, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., includes corn chowder, beef stew, ham Italians, egg salad, ham salad and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, tea, coffee, punch and hot chocolate.

Thursday service

North Pownal United Methodist Church hosts Prayer, Praise and Worship, with the Rev. Raymond St. Pierre, Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.. For more information, contact St. Pierre, 837-0682, or Lay Leader Deb Larrabee, 240-1637.

Food pantry on Wednesdays

The North Pownal United Methodist Church food Pantry on 851 Lawrence Road is now open every Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The pantry never knows from week to week what it will be getting. If any farmers or others would like to donate to the pantry, contact the Rev. Ray St. Pierre, 837-0682, or Deb Larrabee, 240-1637. The pantry helps those in need and welcomes everyone.

Men’s breakfast at church

The First Parish Church of Pownal hosts a men’s breakfast the first Saturday of each month at 7:30 a.m., open to any men who want to come. The Rev. John Wentworth leads the discussions.

Church services

North Pownal United Methodist Church worship service is Sunday at 9 a.m. Sunday School for children and adults is at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome. The Rev. Raymond St. Pierre is pastor. His hours are Wednesdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Thursdays by appointment. The church phone is 688-4938. For more information, call St. Pierre at 837-0682. The First Parish Congregational Church, Route 9, worship service is Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Sunday School for all ages is 11 a.m.-noon. Bible Study meets at the church on Tuesday at 7 p.m. For more information, call the Rev. John Wentworth, 688-4846, or email jwent16@hotmail.com.
