Mechanics Savings Bank announced last week the appointment of Sonia Theberge to Business Banking Specialist. In her new role, Theberge is responsible for serving businesses and developing new business opportunities for the bank.

Theberge will serve the Androscoggin and Cumberland counties from the Auburn and Windham branches.

Theberge has built a 30-year career in the banking industry and was originally hired by Mechanics Savings Bank in early 2012. As a commercial loan administrator manager, she supervised commercial loan administrators, provided support to a team of commercial lenders, and worked to develop new business opportunities.

Theberge is actively involved with the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce. She attended Northern New England School of Banking in 2010 and is a graduate of University of Southern Maine, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She lives in Lewiston with her husband, Victor.
