
He graduated from Gardiner High School in the Class of 1973. He was employed as a master certified technician at Lee Toyota in Topsham and Goodwin Chevrolet in Brunswick. He was a member of the board of directors and a passionate mentor to many students at the Capital Area Vocational Technical School in Augusta.
Burleigh was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Lewis.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Sandra Drummond Lewis of West Gardiner; two children, his daughter and caretaker Jamie Lewis Green of Gardiner, and his son Burleigh “DJ” Lewis of West Gardiner; a sister, Eleanor Noyes of Windsor; three granddaughters, Sabrina and Savannah Green, and Emileigh Lewis; and a special cousin, Louis Brann.
At his request there will be no services.
Following cremation, his ashes will be scattered at Clearwater Beach Pier near his Florida home.
Arrangements are under the Care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
