BANGOR (AP) — A Bangor man has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for distributing the synthetic drug known as bath salts.
U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty said that 36-yearold Adam Hathorn was sentenced to 90 months in prison and three years of supervised release on Thursday.
Prosecutors say that Hathorn packaged and distributed bath salts to people in the Bangor area. They say he was part of a large group of people that conspired to illegally distribute large amounts of the drug in Penobscot, Aroostook and Knox Counties between April and December of 2011.
Chief Judge John Woodcock said that Hathorn “caused a lot of harm” to his community.
